Why we are providing this document
Rainford Fleet Solutions Ltd acts as a vehicle finance and leasing credit broker, not a lender. We introduce customers to selected funders, leasing companies, vehicle suppliers and other providers. This document explains how we are paid, how commission may vary and how you can obtain information about the commission relating to your proposed arrangement. Please read this document before entering into a finance or vehicle-leasing agreement.
Our lender panel
We have access to a panel of lenders, leasing companies and suppliers. We do not search every provider or every product available in the UK market. The options presented to you will be selected from the providers available to us and will depend on your eligibility and business circumstances; the type of vehicle and funding required; vehicle availability and anticipated delivery times; the term, mileage and maintenance requirements; the provider’s lending criteria and commercial terms; and the competitiveness and suitability of the available arrangement. Customer fees
Rainford Fleet Solutions Ltd does not charge customers an upfront brokerage or administration fee for arranging vehicle finance or leasing. Your chosen lender, leasing company, supplier or another third party may apply its own charges under the proposed agreement. These may include documentation, excess-mileage, damage, early-termination or other contractual charges. Any such third-party charges are separate from commission received by Rainford Fleet Solutions Ltd and should be explained in the relevant quotation, order form, agreement or provider documentation.
How we are paid
If you enter into an agreement following our introduction, we may receive commission or other remuneration from the lender, leasing company, vehicle supplier or another provider involved in the transaction. This commission is paid to us by the relevant provider. It allows us to provide our vehicle sourcing, funding and fleet-support services without charging you an upfront brokerage fee. Depending on the arrangement, our remuneration may include a fixed payment, a percentage-based payment, a vehicle or supplier-related payment, a payment linked to the type or value of the agreement, or a combination of more than one form of remuneration. We may also receive non-financial benefits or support from providers where permitted. Where such an arrangement is relevant and could materially influence the transaction, we will disclose it appropriately.
Commission may vary
The commission available to us may vary between funders, leasing companies, suppliers, vehicles and products. This means that we may receive a different amount depending on the provider with whom the agreement is placed; the vehicle selected; the type, value and duration of the agreement; the commercial terms made available by the provider; the level or type of work involved in arranging the transaction; and the supplier or funding route used. Where relevant, commission may be reflected in or connected with the overall commercial terms offered by the provider and may therefore affect the amount you pay under the agreement. We do not operate a discretionary commission arrangement under which we can increase or negotiate a regulated customer’s interest rate in order to increase our commission.
How we select an arrangement
We aim to identify an arrangement that is appropriate for the requirements you have discussed with us, using the providers and products available through our panel. The option presented may not always be the cheapest arrangement available anywhere in the market. Our recommendation or presentation may also take account of vehicle availability, delivery requirements, service, maintenance, provider criteria and the practical needs of your business. The possibility of earning commission does not remove our responsibility to communicate clearly, fairly and in a way that is not misleading.
Disclosure of the commission amount
The commission payable to Rainford Fleet Solutions Ltd for your selected finance or leasing arrangement will be disclosed clearly on your order form at the point of order. Where the precise commission has not yet been confirmed, we will provide the likely amount or explain how it will be calculated. If the amount changes materially before you enter into the agreement, we will provide updated information where required. You may also ask us for the amount—or, where it is not yet known, the likely amount—of commission or other remuneration that we will receive. We will provide this information in good time before you enter into the relevant regulated credit or consumer-hire agreement. Your decision
You are not obliged to proceed with an arrangement introduced by Rainford Fleet Solutions Ltd. Before proceeding, you should consider the total amount payable; the initial payment or deposit; monthly payments or rentals; interest and charges, where applicable; mileage and maintenance terms; end-of-contract responsibilities; early-termination provisions; whether the agreement is suitable for your business and financial circumstances; and the commission disclosed on your order form. Please ask us if anything about the proposed arrangement or our remuneration is unclear.
